Frequently asked questions

How do I remove pages from a PDF?

Add the PDF and type the pages to delete, using commas and dashes: 2, 5-7 removes pages 2, 5, 6 and 7. Press "Delete Pages" and the remaining pages are saved, in their original order, as a new PDF. You can’t delete every page, since that would leave an empty file.

What is the difference between deleting pages and splitting?

Here you name the pages you don’t want. With Split PDF you name the pages you want to keep, or break the file into single pages. Pick whichever list is shorter to type.

Does deleting pages change my original file?

No. The original stays exactly as it was. You download a separate, edited copy, so you can always go back.

Will the file get smaller?

Usually, yes, because the removed pages are gone. Fonts or images shared with the remaining pages stay, so the drop is not always in proportion. The pages you keep are not re-compressed and look exactly the same.

Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?

Not yet. Open the file with its password, save an unprotected copy, then add that copy here. If a file is encrypted, we tell you clearly instead of failing silently.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The pages are removed inside your browser on your own device. Your PDF never reaches our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
