Frequently asked questions

My PDF won’t open. Can I view it here?

Often, yes. If your phone or computer has no PDF app, or the default one fails, open the file here instead; your browser does the reading. If the file is damaged or was only partly downloaded, it may not open anywhere; in that case, ask the sender for a fresh copy.

Can I open a password-protected PDF?

Yes. Type the password when asked and the document opens. The password is checked inside your browser and is never sent to us.

How do I search inside the PDF?

Press Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on Mac) and type a word; matches are highlighted page by page. Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages, so they have no text to search or copy.

Can I edit or sign the PDF here?

No. This page is for reading, printing and downloading. To change the file, try our other PDF tools, such as rotating pages, deleting pages or adding page numbers.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It runs in Safari, Chrome and other modern browsers on iPhone and Android. Use the zoom and page controls to read comfortably on a small screen.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is opened directly from your device inside your browser. It never reaches our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
